Fitness Suite WE ARE MAKING OUR GYM SAFE FOR YOU We have missed you and we are looking forward to welcoming you back on Saturday 25th July, so we can continue to support your fitness journey at St George's in Harpenden. St George's Fitness Suite's Guide to Safer Exercising Since we have been given the go ahead by the government to re-open our gym on Saturday 25th of July, we have been working hard behind the scenes to create a safe environment for you to exercise and as a result, we made some changes. Everyone will have a part to play in keeping our gym and its members safe and we will be asking you to follow a few rules too: What we are doing to keep you safe Booking System We are introducing an online booking calendar to book your exercise slot that will be 55min long. Setmore booking system will allow you to register and book your exercise slots 2 weeks in advance, in the leisure of your home on your smart phone or computer. Alternatively, please contact us at sportshall@stgeorges.herts.sch.uk or call on 01582 716283, during opening hours and our friendly staff will assist you. If you cannot attend your session, please cancel online or contact us so the exercise slot can be made available to another member. Maximum Capacity We are limiting the number of members in each area of the Sports Centre - the maximum capacity of the Gym will be 7 members per hour and you will have 1 staff member behind reception to assist you. Our online booking system will allow for a steady flow of entries and exits throughout the day to ensure we can give you space to exercise safely. Track and Trace Our online booking calendar will be asking for your full name and email address and save in our calendar which will be used to track and trace if necessary. Contactless We have also worked hard on providing our members a card payment system to pay for their membership fee and refreshments. We will still accept cash but we discourage the use to avoid any unnecessary physical contact. Social Distancing Members will see new social distancing signs around the Sports Centre , including one-way system where possible to help guide everybody on social distancing. If social distancing measures are not followed in the Gym, St George's staff will prompt members to follow or leave the premises. Sanitising Members will be encouraged to sanitise their hands at reception and additional hand sanitiser units will be positioned at key areas across the Sports Centre. In addition, we kindly ask members to wash their hands regularly. Cleaning Before every opening, our gym will be cleaned. Additionally, gym equipment will be cleaned regularly throughout the day and we also ask every member to do their bit by wiping down their equipment before and after use, with the cleaning materials provided. Towels The use of towels will be mandatory in the gym by all members. Please bring your own and do not leave it behind on the equipment. Ventilation All doors and windows will be propped open and air conditioning will be on maximum level, circulating fresh air. Limited Services and Facilities Our lockers will be out of action as well as changing rooms, Sports Centre Classrooms and Sports Hall will be closed until further notice. There will be a reduced number of toilet facilities in use to help with social distancing. Drinks The water fountain will be decommissioned temporarily so all members are encouraged to bring drinks from home or purchase at reception. We will be selling bottled water, Lucozade Sport, Coke and Diet Coke. All profits will be donated back to the School. Protecting You and Our Team We will be providing Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) to our staff during working hours. If social distancing measures are not followed in the Gym, St George's staff will prompt you to follow or ask you to leave.
